Hivum is a banking app that is designed to have a friendly tone of voice and is based around an ‘ecosystem’ of interconnected brands, the hive. It allows users to disclose what they are interested in and follow certain brands to get exclusive offers and brand content, all integrated into the account without having to use separate loyalty cards etc, it’s all seamless.

Hivum also acts as the showcase app for features that Qorbital can rebrand as white label for other clients, so it’s used as a sales tool and is the design system that all new journeys are built out from.

The screens below in the carousel are a selection of screens from a 3-5 minute onboarding journey that goes through all the financial KYC requirements. The visual style and tone of voice is kept friendly and slightly tongue in cheek, as well as reminding the user of bees, to associate with the Hivum name. This is achieved through the use of hexagons and a bee character who pops up to guide users through the process. The bee character proved surprisingly popular in user testing but isn’t used too much and not after onboarding so as not to irritate users.

The illustration is from a stock library and will be updated to something more bespoke post-MVP.

The onboarding section is only about 3 mins long, but the progress section gives users the idea that they are progressing through it.

When a section is complete the circle next to it turns to a check/tick symbol.

Once the onboarding is successful the user enters a blank state of the app wallet.

Screens showing the wallet section of the app once in use.
